Chicago, IL – The results of a new randomized, prospective trial was presented at the 2020 American College of Cardiology Annual Scientific Meeting/World Congress of Cardiology by principal investigator Dr. Robert L. Minor, Jr. of the Billings Clinic Heart and Vascular Center, Montana. Compared to the Terumo TR Band, the VasoStat Hemostasis Device produced significantly shorter times to hemostasis enabling same-day discharge sooner among patients undergoing outpatient transradial coronary and endovascular procedures. Patient-reported domains of comfort were also significantly higher with the VasoStat, and the VasoStat required fewer device manipulations than the TR Band. “Same day discharge for elective transradial PCI and endovascular procedures is becoming the new paradigm of care with reduced bleeding complications, improved patient and nursing satisfaction, and reduced costs. The time savings realized by over an hour earlier hemostasis per patient by using the VasoStat enables earlier discharge and greater patient satisfaction,” commented Dr. Minor.
